Welcome back. In the previous lesson, we laid the groundwork for your journey into the world of bear viewing. Today, I’d like to introduce you to the Commercial Bear Viewing Association and their mission to help protect bears and the landscape they live in.
The CBVA is an organisation dedicated to promoting safe, sustainable, and ethical bear viewing practices.
They are committed to supporting the bear viewing industry through comprehensive education, certification, and advocacy.
Their mission is to ensure that guides are well-prepared to lead tours that prioritise both bear safety and visitor experience. By upholding the highest standards in bear viewing, we help protect these magnificent creatures and their habitats while offering unforgettable experiences for nature enthusiasts.
Upon successful completion of the Level 1 Bear Viewing Guide Certification, participants will not only have gained foundational knowledge in bear behaviour, safety protocols, and guiding best practices, but they’ll also be eligible to pursue the next level of certification.
To advance to Level 2 then to Level 3, guides must meet specific requirements, such as accumulating more hands-on experience in the field and completing additional coursework.
This progressive certification structure ensures that each level builds upon the skills and understanding developed in the previous one, ultimately preparing guides for more advanced responsibilities in bear viewing.”
On behalf of the Commercial Bear Viewing Association and myself, thank you for being here to help promote responsible bear viewing and contribute to the preservation of these incredible animals for generations to come. In the next lesson, In the next lesson, we’ll discuss the specific requirements to achieve your Level #1 Bear Viewing Guide certification.
