I’m so happy to have you here! If we haven’t met yet, my name is Daryl, and I’ll be your instructor and guide for this exciting training. I’ve been a CBVA Level 3 Bear Viewing Guide for almost 20 years.
This program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and confidently guide bear viewing tours. At the end of this self-paced training, you will receive the CBVA Level #1 Bear Viewing Guide Certification and CBVA Bear Awareness and Safety Certificate for your portfolio.
To complete your CBVA Level #1 Bear Viewing Guide Certification, you’ll be joining me for three days of theory via Zoom. I’ll be offering live virtual training sessions, once a month beginning in January through to April. You’ll only need to register for one session.
Then, sometime in May, we will meet in Campbell River for the compulsory in-person field session. After we have spent the day together and you achieve 80% or more on your knowledge quizzes, you will have successfully completed your Commercial Bear Viewing Association Level #1 Bear Viewing Guide Certification!
In the next lesson, we’ll discuss why you’re in the right place for this training, focusing on the importance of learning about bear behaviour and safety
I hope you’re excited to dive into this journey with me! Before we meet for our online theory session, I want to encourage you to work through each module and lesson at your own pace, but with intention.
First, make sure to complete each module and lesson in order, and don’t forget to mark them as complete before moving on to the next. This helps you stay on track and ensures you’ve absorbed all the juicy details before moving forward.
Second, As you move through each module, make sure to answer the questions along the way. Not only will this help you dig deeper and reflect on what you’re learning, but you’ll also earn experience points that can unlock some special surprises! These questions aren’t just about testing your knowledge—they’re designed to enhance your journey and help you connect even more with the material.
And if you have any questions or thoughts along the way, feel free to post in the comment section or shoot me an email at daryl@daryldancer.com. I’m here to help and would love to hear from you!
